WQBQ Talk Track: American Dream Kitchen Design Transforms Former Rite Aid into a 7,500-SqFt Showroom

What was once a mostly windowless Rite Aid building in Eustis is now a sprawling showroom filled with complete kitchens, cabinetry, countertops, flooring and outdoor cooking displays.

During a recent appearance on The Chamber, The “Q,” and You on WQBQ, American Dream Kitchen Design founder and manager Vlad Khashchuk shared how his team transformed the former drugstore into a place where homeowners can walk through finished displays, compare products and begin planning a renovation under one roof.

The building spans nearly 10,000 square feet, with approximately 7,500 square feet of showroom space open to customers.

“We are in the business of remodeling kitchens,” Vlad said during the interview. “We have great cabinets, countertops and flooring—all under one roof.”

That showroom experience is an important part of the company’s approach. Instead of asking customers to make major decisions based only on a catalog, computer screen or small sample, American Dream Kitchen Design gives them the opportunity to step inside complete kitchen displays, open cabinets and drawers, examine finishes and see how different products function together.

Creating that experience required a major renovation of the building itself.

Vlad explained that the former Rite Aid had little more than a glass entrance door and a few small windows near the front. His team redesigned the storefront, broke through a concrete-block wall, installed a structural beam and added a new glass façade that completely changed the appearance of the space.

The renovation took approximately seven months.

Today, the showroom features full kitchens customers can walk through, along with a wide range of products for indoor and outdoor projects.

American Dream Kitchen Design carries more than 18 cabinetry brands, giving customers options across different styles, needs and budgets. The selection ranges from ready-to-assemble cabinets to fully customized lines that allow homeowners to choose their wood species, finishes, stains, colors and construction style.

Ready-to-assemble, or RTA, cabinetry can be purchased boxed for customers who want to handle the assembly themselves. For those who begin a project and quickly realize that cabinet assembly is more involved than expected, the company can also provide professional assembly and installation support.

Custom and semi-custom cabinetry options include framed and frameless designs, along with features such as soft-close doors and drawers.

While kitchens remain central to the business, the company’s services extend well beyond kitchen cabinetry.
