Mount Dora Historical Society to Hold Annual Fundraiser

 
Mount Dora, Florida, September 8—The Mount Dora Historical Society (MDHS) will hold its annual fundraiser on Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The event, hosted by the historic Lakeside Inn, will feature music, appetizer buffet, raffles, a silent auction, and a cash bar. Tickets are $20 for members and $25 for non-members, and sponsorships are available for $100. Since 1953, the Mount Dora Historical Society has worked to shape Mount Dora’s future by honoring the past. Several recent MDHS projects include collecting oral histories, installing historical markers on various downtown buildings, initiating a downtown walking tour app, and preserving local historic cemeteries.
 
MDHS also manages the Mount Dora History Museum, located in the city’s first fire station and old jail at 450 Royellou Lane in the heart of Mount Dora. The museum showcases the community’s history from the 1870s to today. Proceeds from the fundraiser will go towards sustaining current programs and implementing future projects.
