  • New Adult English Class at Oak Park Middle School in Partnership with Lake County Schools

Eustis, FL: Lake Technical College, in collaboration with Lake County Schools, is launching a new English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) class for adults at Oak Park Middle School. This initiative expands access to high-quality adult education and supports families—particularly those with students in local schools—by removing barriers to learning and opportunity.

The new ESOL class will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30–8:30 p.m., beginning January 13, and is offered at an affordable cost of only $55 per semester. There are also scholarships available to those who qualify. Adults who participate will build English skills to support their children academically, access new career opportunities and strengthen communication in everyday life.

“Expanding ESOL opportunities in our community is one more way we fulfill our mission to lift families through education,” said DeAnna Thomas, Executive Director of Lake Technical College. “Partnering with Lake County Schools to bring classes directly into neighborhoods removes barriers and empowers parents to better support their children while advancing their own goals. This is workforce education at its best—practical, accessible, and life changing.”

The partnership with Oak Park Middle School allows Lake Technical College to bring adult education directly to a school campus where many families already feel connected and supported. The accessible evening schedule makes it possible for working adults to attend without disrupting employment or family routines.
