Mystic Ice Cream, Scoops on 5th, and Waffles & Cream Join Forces for 25 Flavor Stops Across Historic Downtown Mount Dora and a First-Ever Pup Walk on April 12th
March 16, 2026 – Mount Dora, FL — The Mount Dora Area Chamber of Commerce announced today that the Mount Dora Ice Cream Stroll and Pup Walk will return Sunday, April 12, 2026, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., featuring a major expansion that makes this year’s event the biggest yet. For the first time, the event will feature three ice cream providers instead of one, delivering 25 flavors distributed at 25 participating downtown businesses, along with the debut of a first-ever Pup Walk with treats provided by DogTuff.
The Spring 2026 event marks a significant evolution of the Ice Cream Stroll, transforming it into a larger, more immersive downtown experience that highlights Mount Dora’s walkability, local businesses, and growing culinary scene.
“This year’s Ice Cream Stroll represents a huge step forward for the event,” said Rachel O’Ryan, President of the Mount Dora Area Chamber of Commerce. “Expanding from one ice cream partner to three allows us to showcase more flavors, involve more businesses, and create an even more dynamic downtown experience. Adding the Pup Walk makes it truly inclusive — it’s a celebration of community, small business, and everything people love about Mount Dora.”
"The Mount Dora Ice Cream Stroll and Pup Walk is a wonderful showcase of our family and dog friendly historic downtown along with many of our unique merchants,” said James Homich, Mayor of the City of Mount Dora. “It is a fun and enjoyable event for families and canines."
“The Ice Cream Stroll and Pup Walk highlights the vitality of our downtown and the collaborative spirit of our small business community,” said Misty Sommers, Economic Development Director, City of Mount Dora.
Three Ice Cream Providers Power the 2026 Event
For the first time, ice cream flavors throughout the stroll will be provided by three distinct local dessert businesses, with offerings hosted at participating storefronts across downtown Mount Dora.
Mystic Ice Cream, a newer addition to downtown Mount Dora, is known for its smooth, all-natural ice creams and rotating lineup of more than 30 flavors, including a standout selection of adult, alcohol-infused creations. Flavors featured during the stroll include Kahlúa Fudge Brownie, Bailey’s, Butterscotch Crunch, Cherry Amaretto, Black Jack Cherry, Cookie Dough Oreo, Chocolate Peanut Butter Swirl, Butter Pecan, and Mint Oreo, with Coconut Rum served at the Mystic Ice Cream storefront.
“Opening Mystic Ice Cream in downtown Mount Dora has been an exciting next chapter for us,” said Darrell Day, owner of Mystic Ice Cream. “We love offering everything from classic favorites to alcohol-infused flavors for adults, and the Ice Cream Stroll is the perfect opportunity for people to experience that variety while exploring downtown. Being part of such a big expansion — and the first Pup Walk — makes it even more special.”
Scoops on 5th, a longtime favorite in downtown Mount Dora, offers an old-fashioned ice cream shop experience with a wide selection of Hershey’s® Ice Cream and homemade Sweet Alps Ice Cream. Ice Cream Stroll flavors include Award-Winning Chocolate, Coffee, Cookie Monster, Cotton Candy Cloud, Cookies & Cream, Banana Crunch Toffee, Pistachio, Biscoff, Ooey Gooey Butter Cake, and Wild Strawberry.
“Scoops on 5th has always been about creating a welcoming place for families, visitors, and locals enjoying downtown Mount Dora,” said Cathrine & Chris Flury, owners of Scoops on 5th and Sweet Alps Ice Cream. “The Ice Cream Stroll allows us to take that experience beyond our shop and be part of a larger event that celebrates downtown, local businesses, and community.”
Waffles & Cream, a creative dessert destination built around the simple mission of making people smile, rounds out the lineup with playful, feel-good offerings. During the stroll, guests can sample flavors including Amaretto Cherry, Cool Mint Cookie, Eskimo Kisses, and Moose Tracks, along with pineapple Dole soft serve available at the Waffles & Cream storefront.
“Waffles & Cream was built on the idea of creating joy,” said Chris Jones and Kris Gyori, co-founders of Waffles & Cream. “After years in corporate food service, we wanted to create something fun and personal that brings people together. The Ice Cream Stroll lets us share that joy with even more people, and the addition of the Pup Walk makes this year’s event feel like a true community celebration.”
First-Ever Pup Walk Adds a New Dimension
New for Spring 2026, the Ice Cream Stroll officially welcomes dogs with the introduction of a Pup Walk, encouraging attendees to stroll downtown with their four-legged companions. The Pup Walk is powered by DogTuff, Mount Dora’s pet supply retailer known for its durable dog toys, treats, and accessories for active pups. Participating businesses will offer dog treats and pet-friendly touches along the route, making the event enjoyable for both people and pups.
25 Downtown Businesses Participate
25 downtown Mount Dora businesses will serve as official Ice Cream Stroll stops, hosting ice cream flavors provided by the three dessert partners and welcoming guests throughout the event window. Participating businesses include Becker’s Best Shoes, Cat6 Roofing and Construction, Coopers Alley, Denim & Pearls, First Baptist of Mount Dora, Harmonic Balance Healing Arts, Hospice Hope Chest, Ivy’s Boutique, Jewelry by TFC, KKO Chocolates, Lakeside Inn, Las Palmas Cuban Restaurant, Mystic Ice Cream, Noni at the Olive Branch, Panache by Vintage Rose, The Joint Chiropractic, The Salted Fry, The Salty Mare and The Peppered Donkey, The Yardery, United Southern Bank, Walk in the Woods, Waffles & Cream, and Watson Realty.
