  • Local Presbyterians Package 48,000+ Meals to Fight Global Hunger

Lady Lake, FL — In a powerful display of compassion and teamwork, 23 congregants from Mount Dora joined 225 volunteers from five Presbyterian churches at North Lake Presbyterian Church for a Rise Against Hunger meal packaging event.

Together, the group packaged more than 48,000 nutritious meals that will be distributed to communities in need around the world, including Haiti, the Dominican Republic, the Philippines, and Vietnam.

The event combined hands-on service with a spirit of fellowship, as volunteers worked side by side to assemble and seal meals destined for families facing food insecurity. Participants described the experience as both meaningful and energizing—an opportunity to make a tangible difference while connecting with others.

“It was great fun to work on a project that helps so many people,” shared one participant.

Organizers expressed gratitude for the strong turnout and the collective effort that made the event a success.

“We are thankful for everyone who gave their time and energy to serve,” they noted. “Together, we are helping bring hope and nourishment to those who need it most.”
