    About the Business

Crafted In Florida is a custom woodworking business specializing in one-of-a-kind woodwork designed specifically for each client and space. The company creates custom cabinetry, built-ins, furniture, and detailed carpentry work using solid wood and time-tested techniques.

In a market dominated by mass-produced furniture made from particle board and short-term materials, Crafted In Florida takes a different approach. Every project is designed with intention, built for durability, and crafted to feel personal. Whether it’s a statement dining table, a custom entertainment center, or detailed trim work, the goal is always the same: create woodwork that lasts and feels truly custom.

Alongside larger projects, Crafted In Florida also offers handcrafted smaller pieces such as engraved cutting boards, charcuterie boards, trays, signs, and gift-ready items — bringing the same level of craftsmanship into everyday use.

    The Story Behind the Business

Crafted In Florida was founded by Micah Robinson, a Florida native whose family has lived in the state for more than 100 years. While Micah grew up with a passion for baseball, woodworking was always part of his life. When something needed to be built, he and his dad would head to his grandfather’s woodshop, learning hands-on skills using classic tools.

Those early experiences shaped Micah’s appreciation for craftsmanship and problem-solving. As he entered the professional world, he noticed how much of the furniture and carpentry available felt generic, disposable, and disconnected from the customer. Crafted In Florida was born from a desire to create custom woodwork built from real materials and made specifically for the people who would use it.

For the first eight years, Micah ran the business entirely on his own — handling design, fabrication, installation, and client communication. While rewarding, doing everything solo eventually became unsustainable. Hiring help marked a major turning point, allowing the business to grow, take on larger projects, and operate more efficiently without sacrificing quality.

Today, Micah and his wife, Stefanie, live in Central Florida where they are raising their children, Jack and Charlotte, and continuing to grow a business rooted in craftsmanship and care.

    Why Mount Dora

Mount Dora isn’t just where Crafted In Florida operates — it’s home. Micah chose to build the business here because it’s the community where he’s raising his family and putting down long-term roots. His goal is for Crafted In Florida to become a trusted local staple known for high-quality craftsmanship and thoughtful, reliable work.

    The Work They Do

Crafted In Florida’s portfolio spans a wide range of custom woodworking projects for homes throughout Central Florida. Their work often includes built-in entertainment centers designed to feel like original architectural features, custom pantry systems and storage solutions tailored to how clients live, and handcrafted tables and benches that become functional centerpieces.

The business is also known for fireplace builds that transform blank walls into focal points, along with barn doors, shelving, and detailed trim work that add warmth and character to a space. Through project recaps and behind-the-scenes content, Crafted In Florida shares insight into the full process — from raw lumber to finished installation — highlighting the craftsmanship behind every build.

In addition to client projects, Crafted In Florida also shares detailed build recaps and woodworking content through its blog. These posts walk readers through custom builds from start to finish, offering insight into design decisions, materials, tools, and techniques. The blog serves as both an educational resource and a behind-the-scenes look at the craftsmanship involved in each project, giving customers a deeper understanding of what goes into custom woodwork.

    Community, Chamber & Local Connections

Through involvement with the Mount Dora Area Chamber of Commerce, Crafted In Florida has built strong relationships with fellow local business owners. The Chamber has helped foster collaboration, expand visibility, and create meaningful connections that support both business growth and community engagement.

    What’s Next

Crafted In Florida is currently working on several large custom projects and exploring opportunities to expand the shop to support future growth. Micah is also focused on strengthening the company’s social media presence to better showcase completed work, share educational content, and offer a closer look at the craftsmanship behind each project.
