    Role: Operations Team Member 
    Company: Mount Dora Area Chamber of Commerce 
    Regular Hours: Monday–Friday, 9am–2pm or 12pm-5pm 
    Additional Hours: Chamber events during non-business hours and weekends, as needed 

    As part of the Operations Team this role would be responsible for supporting and overseeing the daily operations of the chamber and visitor center. This is an integrated role alongside another operations team member making communication and collaboration imperative to maintain smooth transitions and consistent service. The Operations Team ensures efficient management of administrative functions, membership engagement, visitor services, staff and volunteer coordination, event logistics, and community outreach. Working closely with the President and other team members and contributing to the chamber’s mission, growth, and operational excellence. 

    Key Responsibilities

    Operational Leadership: Support daily operations of the chamber and visitor center to ensure smooth workflows and exceptional customer service. Implement operational strategies and process improvements to enhance efficiency. 

    Administrative Management: Manage email and phone communications, invoicing, reporting, records, databases, contracts, and documentation. Maintain organized systems for data management and operational tracking. 

    Visitor Center Oversight: Provide accurate and up-to-date information on local events, restaurants, shops, attractions, and activities via phone, email, mail, and in person. Maintain a welcoming and professional environment for guests and community members. 

    Volunteer and Staff Coordination: Train, schedule, and support volunteers and staff to promote teamwork and accountability. 

    Logistics and Facility Management: Inventory tracking, supply management, and office operations to ensure readiness and efficiency. Complete event room setups. 

    Projects and Process Improvement: Assist the President with multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and improved workflows. 

    Communication and Relationship Management: Serve as a liaison between employees, members, vendors, visitors, and volunteers. Foster positive relationships and effective communication across departments. 

    Events and Event Planning: Support monthly chamber business networking events and annual chamber fundraising events, including member and vendor participation, registration, setup, and cleanup. Assist with event execution and volunteer coordination. 

    Event Room Rental Management: Manage room rentals, maintain the rental calendar, administer contracts, invoice and collect payments, and coordinate setup and cleaning. 

    Membership Support and Engagement: Assist with membership recruitment and retention by building relationships, promoting chamber benefits and organizing networking opportunities. Maintain accurate member data and support engagement initiatives. 

    Community Outreach: Represent the chamber at local events and promote chamber programs and initiatives.

    • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Calendar, Drive) 
    • Knowledge of CRM software and data management systems 
    • Experience in operational management, staff coordination, and event planning preferred
