In 1943, nineteen year old recruit, Eugene Jerome, heads off for ten weeks of boot camp in Biloxi. As a fledgling writer, his notebook scribblings provide humorous snippets of life in the barracks. It's a coming-of-age tale for these young men as their adult lives begin to unfold.
