The Tradition of Christmas… At the Walk
The Mount Dora Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Mount Dora Bicycle Festival present the 27th Annual Christmas Walk Friday, December 6 from 6:00pm – 9:00pm in historic downtown Mount Dora. Where traditional Christmas light displays, holiday entertainment and children’s activities fill the downtown streets, truly a tradition where family and friends come together and celebrate the Christmas holiday!
This year’s event is expected to be the best yet, as visitors will experience an enchanted evening as Mount Dora returns to the tradition of the holiday! Transforming the downtown streets into a magical Christmas wonderland with carolers, stilt walking and juggling shows, live musical performances by Mount Dora High Jazz Band, Mount Dora Middle Band, Salvation Army, and even the City of Mount Dora Pipe Band! And the list goes on, the downtown merchants invite you to stroll around Mount Dora enjoying Christmas treats, beverages, and specials as you do your holiday shopping, make sure to check out the Snow on Fifth, face painters, Em’z Snow Angel, Kids Train rides and live music found in many of the restaurants. Of course, pictures will be offered with Santa at Main Street Leasing’s 40 ft musical Christmas Tree.
Mount Dora’s Christmas Walk features millions of twinkling lights in Donnelly Park, the downtown district and is supercharged by the Mount Dora Boating Center, home to the largest private display of Christmas lights and decorations in Central Florida, which can be enjoyed by walking, car or boat at the two-acre complex on St. Charles Street.
To kick off The Christmas Walk, The Jim Colbert Show will be live from 3:00pm – 7:00pm in Sunset Park, come join us!
There will be children’s activities, seasonal and food vendors, hot cocoa and cookies available at the Gingerbread House by Lake Cares Food Pantry, and other holiday surprises to complete this magical winter wonderland holiday experience.
