SUMMARY:Mount Dora Historic Home Walking Tour
DESCRIPTION:The Mount Dora Historical Society presents its second guided Historic Home Walking Tour.  The free walking tour is Saturday\, October 15th at 10 am.  Participants should gather in the parking lot of First United Methodist Church on the south side of Fifth Avenue.  This tour will explore the block of Fifth Avenue\, Grandview Street\, Third Avenue and Baker Street to recapture the rich history of this neighborhood.\n\n \n\nThe tour will include the history of 16 historic homes\, two churches and Mount Dora's first private school. The tour reveals a hidden piece of history from the late 1890s that remains today and tells the stories of seven homes that were lost to demolition.  Tour participants should wear comfortable walking shoes.\n\n\n\nUnfortunately\, not all of the sidewalks used are easily accessible.
