DESCRIPTION:The Florida Acoustic Winter Gathering\, Friday\, Feb 7th and Saturday\, 8th is a major national workshop series and festival Now in its 15th year\, this annual event brings players and teachers of dulcimer players and kindred folk instruments from across the nation. Saturday has additional activities for the general public. It begins with contra dance\, then afternoon folk-instrument intensives for high school musicians\, plus a Couples Beginners Class and classes for individuals who wish to learn dulcimer. Public evening concerts are presented at the First Baptist Church of Mt. Dora and feature an exciting Friday night Faculty Concert and thrilling Saturday night Performers Concert featuring nationally known players on mountain and hammered dulcimers\, autoharp\, fiddles\, ukuleles and banjos. Admittance for both nights is $10\, children free\, with performance time at 7 pm.
