Four windows were donated from 1886 to 1908, but were not moved into the 1940 sanctuary currently in use. The current windows were dedicated in 1958. Members of the congregation will conduct free tours of their stained glass windows highlighting their construction and the themes portrayed in the windows on February 7 & 8.

Feb 13 Mar 3 "Tramp, Gaudi and Helene Bess"
Location: Bowersock Gallery 137 East Fourth Avenue, Mount Dora
Description: Opens Feb 13 through March 3 Contact: Steve Bowersock 1-508-487-4994 The Bowersock Gallery will present the fantastical work of Helene Bess, the latest artist to join the gallery's stable at a special Artist's Reception for "Tramp, Gaudi and Helene Bess." The exhibit will feature Bess, and will include work by Steve Bowersock and the gallery's stable of artists. The artist's reception will be held Feb. 13 from 6 to 9 p.m. and run through March 3, at the Bowersock Gallery, 137 East Fourth Ave, Mount Dora. "Tramp, Gaudi and Helene Bess" will feature bird house and box sculptures by Bess, a mixed media artist. "Helene's work is a breath of fresh air, fun, whimsical, colorful and exciting," Curator Steve Bowersock says. "Her work is a mix of contemporary and nostalgia, and is complex and fantastical." Bess fashions her sculpture of found objects "bits and bobs," old nails, bottle caps, beads, rusted items, screws, and vintage furniture parts. The artist, who attended Phoenix Pratt School of Design in New York N.Y. and St. Petersburg Community College in Florida, categorizes her work as "soft" steampunk, Avant-garde, contemporary." "There is also shades of early American Tramp art, with a touch of Gaudi," says Bowersock. "What Helene has done is taken disparate items and fashioned them into distinctly Bess sculptures, wondrous wholes that eclipses any original shape." Bess uses the texture, color and patterns of found objects to create intricately detailed works that inspire, and engage. She assembles, manipulates and redefines the ordinary and discarded item transforming the pieces into beautiful works of art that suggest other times and worlds. Bess's work has exhibited in galleries across the US. Her personal art and commissions are found in private collection throughout the U.S. and Europe. "Helene's work is wild, yet intricately ordered and detailed. There's a great sense of carefree yet each is clearly created by a skilled technician. The work is energetic but light," Bowersock says. "Helene is a great addition to the gallery."
